As Twitchy reported earlier, the noon deadline for each Florida county to have its unofficial vote count to the Secretary of State came and went, leaving both Ron DeSantis and Rick Scott in the lead.
However, recounts in both races have been triggered, compelling Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum to withdraw his concession to DeSantis.

As far as the U.S. Senate race goes, Rick Scott considers it over and offered this tweet Saturday evening:
The people of Florida have spoken and I am so honored to have won a close but decisive victory. I will fight for Florida every day as your next U.S. Senator. It’s time Senator Nelson accepts these results and allows the state of Florida to move forward to a better future.
— Rick Scott (@ScottforFlorida) November 10, 2018
Constituents believe Scott should consider making this a priority before he steps down as governor:
Please do us a favor. As a Broward County resident and taxpayer, I do NOT want Brenda Snipes as my Supervisor of Elections. I do NOT trust her. She even had conservative journalists kicked out of her press conferences today in addition to not letting @RepMattGaetz in last night.
— Angel (@AngelOfficial) November 10, 2018
What has been going on in Broward is so corrupted and divisive!!!
— Nathalie Adams (@Nathaliecadams) November 10, 2018
Securing our elections MUST be the number one priority for the GOP going forward. Securing the borders means nothing if we cant secure our elections.
— Chris Konces (@ryanc11) November 10, 2018
Agreed. What happened in Florida is a HUGE eye opener.
— Mort (@DoubleSuitedOro) November 10, 2018
What are you waiting for to suspend Dr. Brenda Snipes?
— Aurelio Cuervo (@Cuervo_PI) November 10, 2018
— Phil (@phil0616) November 10, 2018
I agree, I voted for you BUT It’s time for Brenda Snipes to be fired. You in your current position of Governor can do that. It should have already been done prior, in light of her unethical history and findings of being guilty. #FireBrendaSnipes
— Jennifer #FireBrenda (@_jenniferlong) November 10, 2018
Thank God! Now fix that system.
— Arthur Norwood (@ArthurGNorwood) November 10, 2018
Fire Sheriff Israel and Snipes before you leave office and do Florida a favor.
— Canes Fan (@hcanes100) November 10, 2018
Gov. Scott one of your last duties as Governor is to get rid of Shady Snipes immediately after this chaos.
— Cathy Filipcic (@cathy_filipcic) November 10, 2018
Please disassemble the entire Broward and Palm Beach Co elections offices…. They need to be watched very carefully going forward
— Drew Kosta (@DrewKosta) November 10, 2018
Congratulations but snipes and that woman from palm beach have lost the trust of America. They both need to resign immediately.
— Larry (@Marshwin) November 10, 2018
So remove Snipes already and have a full investigation.
— MeganFox (@MeganFoxWriter) November 10, 2018
And as for Snipes? LOCK. HER. UP.
— Jay (@Lo_Thuggan) November 10, 2018
I hope you or future Gov. DeSantis do something to prevent future blatant attempts to steal elections the way the Dems have done in Broward & Palm Beach Counties.
— Fightforfreedom (@mrzblak1) November 10, 2018
Thank you Rick Scott!! Please make sure the Broward County gets a new cleaned up election supervisor!!!! Brenda Snipes HAS TO GO!!!!!
— Cathy Weston (@CathyWeston6) November 11, 2018
Fire Shady Snipes. Support Voter ID law.
— Donna Mercier (@DonnaMercier3) November 10, 2018
As Gov at this point in time, you need to shut down Broward County Elections Office and fire Brenda Snipes and her co-horts…….she shouldn’t be SOE and not allowed anywhere near ballots complete or blank!!!!!
— Lynn Meehan (@4thGear1) November 10, 2018
Suspend Snipes and get @PamBondi down there Governor!
— Turtlegal (@floridagal1978) November 10, 2018
And now please fire Brenda Snipes. She got a lot of counting to finish at home.
— woke millennial (@woke_millenial) November 10, 2018
Congratulations! Since you are the Governor of Florida today, please clean up (arrests/removal) the people who are OBVIOUSLY committing crimes in the voting process! Or this will happen again and again. We are watching!
— Leslie MacD (@MacDLes) November 10, 2018
No big deal, just Palm Beach County refusing to comply with the recount court order https://t.co/VqnpmiXUim
