Following a horrific school shooting in Parkland, Fla., Wednesday, the White House canceled its afternoon press briefing.
After multiple delays, today’s WH press briefing has been cancelled.

No press briefing, Sarah Sanders says, after postponing it several times. Says it is being canceled due to school shooting in Florida.

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes at first wondered if the White House was using the tragedy to “hide” from a host of scandals that would surely have been addressed at the briefing.

I fail to see how a WH briefing in the middle of this would have helped. https://t.co/zMrRa6CpO7

Is a host of MSNBC really using a school shooting to promulgate a political point? Kinda looks like that is what is happening.

What an asshole. God forbid they focus on an ongoing event for a day. Someone is pissed they might have to rewrite tonight’s script. https://t.co/66LlaY8WVJ

And if it were the other way around it would be “Why is Trump avoiding the school shooting?”

Annnnnnd he deleted it.

It seems Hayes had second thoughts after following the story a little bit. That host of scandals will have to wait until tomorrow, maybe.
My further thoughts on this, as I see the scale of the horror, are they were probably right to cancel the briefing.

Yeah, maybe those burning questions about Stormy Daniels can wait another day while the White House monitors the situation on the ground in Florida.
1. Your first tweet was abhorrent.
2. It really doesn’t matter what you think about the press briefing.

Chris. I don’t know who crammed you into a locker in high school, but if I ever meet them, I’m going to buy them a drink.
